The forgotten History of Agra Tour

The forgotten Historical chronicles of Agra.

Historians say that these three awesome bronze statues of Queen Victoria were built in Italy and brought to India in 1905.

They were placed at Victoria park(Now called Moti Lal Nehru Park) for the time being, later they were shifted to Agra police lines in 1950 and later under the protests of the local activities they were relocated to Hewitt park (presently known as Pandit Krishna Dutta Paliwal park). If you are doing Golden Triangle Tour you must plan for 2 nights stay in Agra to devote some time to witness the unique art of Agra like this and other cultural facets.

They are in good condition along with the Jones public library. At this place, Agra Municipal Corporation has made a museum to depict the local unforgotten.

There are twice the main statues of the queen. In your Taj Mahal Tour Plan, if you have extra time you must not forget to visit these masterpieces. In the first statues, she is shown as the supreme commander of the British army as she is holding a sword in her hand.

In the second statue, she is holding a wand of power in her hand which is symbolic of her power over Britain and over the empire. In the third one, she is holding the sacred bible on her hand which is symbolic of her religious and intellectual bent of mind.

These statues were accompanied by the figures of Walruses.
